A French bronze figure of a seated woman in flowing robes, signed Carpeaus, mounted on a two-tiered marble base. Finely detailed with rich patina, measuring 15 1/2"h on 9" x 6" base. No visible foundry mark.
A vintage English bowler hat by Herbert Johnson, Hatters by Appointment to Her Majesty the Queen, 38 New Bond St., London. Mint, unworn condition in original hat box.
A matched pair of "Fireglow" art glass mantle vases, each intricately hand painted with pastoral scenes in Japanese manner, both 11"h x 6 3/4"w. Fireglow was introduced by the Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. in the mid-1800s, emulated by Stourbridge glass houses soon after.
Six Occupied Japan Figures: A pair of 10" hand painted figurines of a courtly lady & gent; a fine hand painted pair of Ardalt 10" figurines of man and woman in period dress carrying baskets of ripe grapes; and a 7" pair modeled as courting couples in period dress, each intricately hand painted & marked "ST, Hand Painted, Made in Occupied Japan."
A Whiting & Davis 5" x 6 1/2" mesh purse decorated with a brightly colored peacock, and gold accents and chain. Very fine condition with original Whiting & Davis paper tag attached.
A 10 5/8" Bohemian art glass vase, cased in ruby glass and engraved to clear, illustrated with scenes of European wildlife and buildings. Identical engraving as on item #230 Bohemian decanter, which is etched "Vorbeck 1882".
Two signed Libbey American Brilliant Cut Glass 5" nappies, one handled, both in hobstar patterns. The handled nappy has a star-in-circle signature, the other a full "Libbey" signature.
A 17"h hand painted and gilded Capodimonte lamp base, decorated in a pastel shades with classical scenes in bas relief. Marked underglaze "Capodimonte Italy".
A grouping of seven ladies dresser items on an elegant 14" x 20" gilt Florentine tray. The collection includes a c1900 English cut glass 7" perfume bottle with original facet stopper, a set of three crystal 6" perfumes (two with gold plated filigree stands), a 5 1/4"w crystal dish on a gilt ormulu base, a 3 1/2" square crystal powder box, and an engraved crystal jewelry box mounted with gold plated filigree. Eight items total.
A rare c1930 Shuco brown mohair jointed monkey perfume bottle in fine condition, , originally containing "Fine Extract of Lilac Perfume." The monkey's head lifts off to reveal the stoppered perfume vial.
A late 19th Century Austrian Imperial Crown China 8 1/8" hand painted cabinet plate decorated with a romantic scene by the renowned artist, Angelica Kauffman. The Kauffmann scene illustrates three determined young women escorting Cupid in a chariot to a destination unknown, though presumably in the vicinity of three unsuspecting young men. Cupid's bow & arrows are at ready. The border of the plate is intricately & extensively gilded, with customary minor wear to the outer gilt edge.
A matched pair of late 19th Century hand blown English art glass 10 1/2" mantle vases of opaline glass cased over cranberry, with amber cresting to the sharply crimped edges. Both vases have an elaborate applied flower trails in amber, which amazingly is in flawless condition.
A fine c1900 gilt bronze jewelry box decorated with a classical scene of children playing Hide-and-Seek, 8" x 6" x 3"h, with an intricate reeded design around the sides. A heavy box with excellent hinges, original velvet lining intact.
An Art Deco Czechoslovakia 4 7/8"h perfume bottle with a black amethyst ziggurat base glass and a satinized Egyptian Pharaoh head stopper. Unmarked, has a sliver chip to underside base.
A 1975 Arthur Court Designs "Sealife Collection" large 25 1/2" x 12 3/4" aluminum fish tray with inset jadestone eye. A dramatic tray, extensively engraved, typifying the inspired work of Arthur Court's early designs.
A vintage 6 1/4" Meerschaum carved lion's head pipe in it's original fitted, velvet-lined leather case. Previously smoked with undamaged mouthpiece, the lower portion of the lion is wrapped in a suede leather rest. Together with a 1 1/2"h x 7"w Italian alabaster ashtray.
A fine Elgin #8030042 seven jewels gentleman's 2" diameter pocket watch with an elaborate porcelain dial and second wheel, currently running. Housed in an unmarked gold-metal hunter case engraved, "Duber Warranted 20 Years, #7426931".
A collection of five pipes, all smoked, including an engraved Meerschaum Calibash, an Irish K&P Petersons with sterling band, a GBD London #145 Velvet, an Israeli Alpha Signature, and a sterling banded briar with indecipherable mark; all served up on an ornate c1910 handled & reticulated 12"w silverplate tray. 6 items total.
A sleek Benrus 14k 21 jewel men's wristwatch with original Benrus leather band, lightly worn. A manual-wind watch with a thin profile, round face, Roman numerals, and an elegantly designed second wheel. Currently running, housed in a vintage watch case.
A 7 1/4"w (excluding hooks) Boonie wooden salt water fishing lure with two double hooks, red with silver scales shading to black spine. Very good condition with light scratches.
A scarce c1905 J.W. McCoy "Loy-Nel-Art" 6 1/4"h handled vase decorated with a daffodil in bloom, in standard glaze shading from deep green to amber. Fine condition with a glazed-over factory flaw to rim.
A German salt glaze stoneware urn, 11"h x 9"w, deeply modeled in bas relief with scenes of cherubs and mythological figures. Unmarked, with incised numbers "933".
A late 19th Century German stoneware 10 1/2" beer tankard, together with four 4 3/4" steins, each modeled with scenes of beer halls and outdoor revelry. All pieces impressed "GERMANY" with mold numbers, likely Mettlach.
A Japanese Kutani 4 1/2"h vertical brush holder in crackle glaze decorated with an erotic illustration of a semi-nude Geisha, with two character Kutani mark and "Japan" in block letters.
A 8"h Chinese cloisonné vase decorated front and reverse with Chinese opera masks, dramatically set against a background of deep red with scrolls and lotus blossoms in black and sky blue.
A late 19th Century hand blown cranberry glass 12"h "Jack in the Pulpit" vase with hand painted gilt decoration. Of Moser quality, unsigned with a polished pontil.
A late 19th Century Bohemian Art Nouveau 11 1/2"h emerald green vase, delicately iridized, decorated with hand gilded flowers outlined in cream enamel. In fine condition with minor speck losses to gilt/enamel, generally attributed to Moser though made by other Bohemian art glass companies as well.
A large & important 14 3/4"h Jacob Pouyat Limoges tankard hand painted by Emile Pouyat, decorated with his rarely seen "European Winter Landscape." Signed "Emile" on pitcher body, base marked in green "J.P.L. France", "Handpainted" in overglaze blue script, with impressed "21" shape number.
A 1930s French Verlys Art Glass opalescent "Birds & Fish" camellia bowl with original patinated brass rim, 13 3/4"w x 2 3/4"h. Signed in-mold "Verlys France", average wear to interior surface.
